Overview: You will play a key role in supporting the testing and validation of embedded systems and electronics for the Nosh. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing test plans for hardware and software components, creating and debugging firmware, writing test codes, and designing test fixtures to ensure the overall functionality and reliability of the product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed test plans for embedded systems, including both hardware (electronics, PCBs) and software/firmware, ensuring complete coverage of system functionalities.
- Execute tests for embedded system functionality, ensuring that sensors, actuators, controllers, and other components work seamlessly in the product.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in the embedded firmware and software. Work closely with the engineering team to debug code, ensure proper software-hardware integration, and verify that the embedded systems meet performance standards.
- Design, develop, and implement test fixtures for validating embedded systems, ensuring accurate and repeatable testing of hardware components, sensors, and electronics.
- Perform electrical testing on PCBs and other embedded components, including measurements with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Document all test plans, procedures, and results, and report findings to senior engineers or management. Maintain detailed records of debugging, test fixture designs, and changes in the firmware or hardware.
- Report and track bugs, defects, and anomalies found during the testing phase, ensuring proper follow-up with development teams.
- Assist with the verification of embedded system components to meet regulatory and industry certifications, such as CE, RoHS, or UL, ensuring product compliance during the development process.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Embedded Systems: Familiarity with embedded systems development, including microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, ARM), and experience in working with embedded C/C++ or similar languages.
- Firmware Debugging: Experience in debugging embedded firmware using tools like JTAG, debuggers, or oscilloscopes.
- PCB Design and Schematic Capture: Knowledge of PCB design software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad) and the ability to design and test PCBs.
- Test Automation: Experience in writing automated test scripts using languages like Python, MATLAB, or other relevant tools.
- Testing Tools: Proficiency in using electrical testing tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) for debugging and validating circuits.
- Basic Electronics: Understanding of digital and analog electronics, circuit design, and signal processing.
Education and Experience:
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
- Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in embedded systems testing, PCB design, or firmware development (internship or academic projects may be considered).
- Additional Knowledge: Knowledge of robotics-specific hardware, sensor technologies, or experience with robotics testing platforms is a must.
